She also serves as an independent committee member, board advisor, and leadership coach for senior GRC professionals.She previously worked in global investment banking, most recently at Standard Chartered as Managing Director and Group Head of Compliance Surveillance, with responsibility across 63 jurisdictions.
She also leads Surveillance Leaders Network boardroom sessions across London, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Sydney, and moderates at XLoD Global.She is the author of Behind the Screens, has been published in the Financial Times and The Banker, and serves on the Advisory Board of Features Analytics.Emily holds an MSc from the London School of Economics, a qualification from the University of Oxford, and is an ICF-certified leadership coach.

James Skinner is an enterprise risk leader with 15+ years’ experience across global banks, including Westpac, RBS, UBS and the Bank for International Settlements. He has led large-scale risk transformation, regulatory remediation, and integrated assurance programmes across all three lines of defence. His work combines deep expertise in operational and model risk with a pragmatic, technology-enabled approach, including AI-driven analytics and scenario modelling. He focuses on embedding risk into strategic decision-making and building forward-looking, resilient risk.
